During his thirty years in organizational development and training, Dr. Harold S. Resnick has earned national recognition as a leading authority and innovator in organizational transformation and leadership development. He has consulted with hundreds of private and public sector clients in North and South America, Europe and the Middle East.
From 1980-1998 Dr. Resnick founded and then served as the CEO of Work Systems Associates (WSA), a management and organizational development consulting firm. WSA developed proprietary systems and methods used by client organizations to develop their leadership talent, address team issues, build quality systems, and achieve transformational change. Under his leadership, WSA became a multi-million dollar, multi-national consulting firm. Major clients included CH2MHILL, EMC Corporation, Novell, IKON, Raytheon, ABB Lummus, Volvo GM Heavy Truck, Philips Electronics USA, Lockheed Martin, and Shell Oil, and Aavid Thermal Technologies.
In 1996, Dr. Resnick founded Generation21 Learning Systems, a software company that developed one of the seminal enterprise-wide web-based training and knowledge management systems. He served as CEO through its development, growth and acquisition. Gen21 was the technology of choice for such leading companies as the NASA space shuttle, Dell Computer, Agilent Technologies, and Verizon. In July, 1999 Generation21 was acquired by Renaissance Learning, Inc. (Nasdaq RLRN). Dr. Resnick maintained an active relationship as a strategic planning consultant for Gen21 through 2002.
Prior to Work Systems Associates and Generation21 Learning Systems, Dr. Resnick was a university professor. He served at Boston University for five years; Temple University for four years; and Wayne State University for four years. He was also the Director of Organizational Development for the Raytheon Data Systems Company, responsible for supporting sales and service organizations of more than 5,000 individuals in 147 locations around the world.
A graduate of City University of New York, Dr. Resnick received Master’s and Doctoral degrees from Wayne State University. His fields of study combined technical education, instructional technology and organizational development.
In 2000, Dr. Resnick and his wife Barbara moved to Ponte Vedra Beach. Since that time Dr. Resnick has maintained a private consulting practice serving the areas of organizational change, leadership development, strategic planning, and executive team development. Recent private sector clients have included Everbank, Wachovia, Shands Hospital, Sea Star Lines, Prosser Hallock, The Haskell Company, FPIC, Vestcor, The Colomer Group, and MortgageIT. Public sector and non-profit clients have included Downtown Vision, The MountainTop Institute, the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, Duval County Sheriff’s Office, Duval County Public Schools, Family Foundations, and the Sulzbacher Center.
Dr Resnick is a regular columnist with the Jacksonville Business Journal. His column entitled “Leading Edge” discusses thought-provoking leadership issues.
